My fascination and attraction to crazy quilts is becoming an obsession! I can "blame" my Great, Great Grandmother Merritt who created dazzling crazy quilts while she ran a boarding house in the Catskills.
I love this crazy-quilt rooster! I am interested in old crazy quilts, too...the little hidden designs that people would embroider on them fascinate me. I finally had time to peruse your blog and website...what lovely work you do. And to live in your family church with your adorable son...what a lucky person!
For more than ten years, I designed and produced childrens' entertainment and educational software, websites and videos. Now I spend my days drawing and painting everything from armadillos to zebras to homemade Pokemon cards for my son.
I graduated from Murray Tinkelman’s limited residency MFA program at Hartford Art School in July 2009. The program was a dream come true; to live and breathe art with incredible illustrators for 4 weeks a year - heaven! Please see the link below if you’d like to find out more information.
I didn’t choose to pursue illustration; it chose me. I do it because I simply can’t stop. It’s the way I think and approach life. Someone else sees an older lady sipping tea and doesn’t think twice. I see that lady and imagine a coiffed ostrich with pearls in a boiled wool suit and matching hat. Playing pretend never gets old!

Great work and I really like your colours and details. I wish I could make quilts...

Jackie, this is lovely! All the intricate patterns are working really well together. This seems like a prime image for licensed goods.
